China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (hereinafter referred to as CPCIF) held its 21st forum on June 21 in Beijing. Li Shousheng, president and party secretary, announced the Report of Inspection on Innovative Development of US and Japanese Multinational Companies at the meeting.

The CPCIF delegation came to Japan for an inspection in April of this year, and selected three companies to visit: Mitsui Chemicals, Mitsubishi Chemical, and HighChem. In the inspection report, President Li spoke highly of HighChem for its innovation, strategic vision, research & development results, etc. On page 1, the report says, “From March 21 to April 1, I led a delegation to investigate current corporate status and future trend of innovative development of such eight well-known US and Japanese multinational companies as Dow, Huntsman, Honeywell, KBR, UOP, Mitsui Chemicals, Mitsubishi Chemical, and HighChem. Both US and Japanese companies attached great importance to this inspection and kept a very open attitude by which we were deeply moved.”

At the symposium on April, 16 , President Li, together with HighChem team, discussed the current status and future of CTEG technology, as well as the strategic plan for a comprehensive coal chemical industrial park in China. President Li said that the coal chemical industry is becoming more important in China. “HighChem’ s role in advancing the development of business between China and Japan is indispensable”, said Hu Qianlin, deputy secretary-general of CPCIF, and he added that an ethylene glycol subcommittee could be established under the Coal Chemical Industry Subcommittee of CPCIF to further strengthen business ties and exchanges between the two countries.

As of press time, HighChem has completed 12 CTEG technology transfers to China. HighChem also provides customers with an all-round support in capital and product sales to customers. In the future, HighChem targets for potential market in Middle East, Southeast Asia and other regions

CPCIF hopes the accomplishment of HignChem in CTEG would attract outstanding Japanese companies to actively participate in the ongoing SCCIG Coal Chemical Industrial Park Project. As stated by President Li, “ Coal based technology is an important direction for future development in the 13th Five-Year Plan issued by the State Council. HighChem will also play a key role between China and Japan in development of coal based downstream products.”
